Requirements

Use the table below to check whether your WordPress installation is ready for Sensible Stock.

Installation

Option A: Install the free version

Install the free version from WordPress.org when it is available. Search for Sensible Stock, install the plugin and activate it.

Option B: Install a paid version

After purchase, download the plugin zip from the Freemius customer portal using the account link provided in your purchase confirmation email.

• Go to Plugins in your WordPress admin.
• Choose Add New Plugin.
• Upload the zip file.
• Activate the plugin.
• Use the Freemius licence screen when licence activation is required.

First setup

Start by adding your suppliers, assigning products to suppliers and checking your first purchase advice.

• Add your suppliers.
• Set supplier lead times.
• Assign products to suppliers.
• Add purchase prices where available.
• Open the purchase advice dashboard.

Purchase advice

Sensible Stock calculates what needs to be ordered based on your sales history, current stock, supplier lead time and configured product settings.

Supplier management

Group products by supplier so you can create clear supplier order lists instead of checking every product manually.

Order workflow

Create supplier orders from the purchase advice screen and keep track of what has already been ordered.

Incoming goods

When stock arrives, confirm the received quantities and update WooCommerce stock from one workflow.

Slow movers

Find products that barely sell or have not sold for a long time, so less money stays stuck in slow inventory.

Seasonal correction

Use seasonal correction to increase purchase advice during busy periods such as Black Friday, Christmas or other seasonal peaks.

Plugin settings

Configure your calculation period, safety stock, supplier logic and dashboard preferences.

Per-product settings

Each product can have its own supplier, purchase price, minimum order quantity and optional exclusions.

Plans & limits

Different plans unlock different limits and workflow options.

HPOS compatibility

Sensible Stock supports WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage and legacy order storage.

CSV export

Export order advice to CSV for supplier communication, review or internal purchasing workflows.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sensible Stock work with variable products?

Yes, provided the product data is configured correctly in WooCommerce.

What happens if I exceed the product limit on my plan?

Products beyond the plan limit are excluded from the purchase advice until you upgrade or reduce the number of tracked products.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Freemius customer portal. Use the account link provided in your purchase confirmation email, or contact us at info@sensiblestock.com if you need help.

Is my WooCommerce data sent anywhere?

No. Calculations run inside your own WordPress installation. Licence handling is managed through Freemius.
